Opening Remarks at the WMO High-Level Session
At the World Meteorological Organization's High-Level Session in Geneva, the COP31 President-Designate set out why observation, forecasting and early warning belong at the centre of an Implementation COP - pointing to the Nepal glacier disaster, Türkiye's record swings in rainfall and the MeteoUYARI system, and pledging to train 30 technical staff from least developed countries every year for three years.
COP31 Climate Short Film Competition is open for entries
Guided by the theme “Our World, Our Common Home”, the COP31 Climate Short Film Competition is accepting entries until 10 October 2026. Selected films will be screened in Antalya on 11-19 November, with a total of EUR 14,000 in prizes.

COP31 thematic days announced: 12 days, 12 priorities
The thematic day programme for COP31, taking place in Antalya on 9-20 November 2026, has been finalised. The World Leaders Climate Action Summit convenes on 11-12 November, and each of the twelve days is dedicated to a priority area of climate action.
Media registration for COP31 is now open
Media registration for COP31 is now open through the UNFCCC Online Registration System. Dedicated hotel allocations and shuttle transportation have been arranged for media representatives in Antalya.
